AL GORE INCONVENIENT TRUTH

November 27th 2007 -

It is commonly known that, former United States Vice President, Al Gore, has a strong concern for global warming. Al Gore’s concerns are so strong he made a documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth”, strictly dedicated to try and reach out to the world on global warming issues. Al Gore, also, wrote a nonfiction paperback book titled “An Inconvenient Truth.” Paramount Classics donated five percent of the tickets to Alliance for Climate Protection. Al Gore also donated all the proceeds collected for the documentary to the Alliance for Climate Protection, of which Al Gore, of course, is the founder and chairman.

Al Gore covers his scientific views on the change of climate and the consequences the world will face if global climate change is not drastically reduced very soon. The documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth”, also, has clips for the people who believe global warming is not real and has not been proven. In this specific segment of the film, Al Gore enlightens his viewers on melting of ice in Greenland and West Antarctica which might raise sea levels twenty feet. Northern Europe will no longer have the currents keeping it warm due to Greenland’s melt water.

An Inconvenient Truth”, has become curriculum in some schools throughout the world such as fourth and sixth grade science classes in Scotland. In parts of Canada it is an educational convenience or resource. The National Science Teachers Association refused fifty thousand free DVDs of the documentary due to campaigning reasons. Worldwide the film earned forty nine million dollars. The documentary was released on DVD on November 21, 2006. “An Inconvenient Truth” had great reviews from scientists and politicians. Many non-believers of global warming are criticizing the documentary stating that Al Gore exaggerates the effects of global warming. To many, the issue of global warming is still very unwelcome and undecided issue.
